		<description>MRC: Congrats on another great post. You are dead-on regarding marketing (and PR, for that matter...) being a system. 

I used to advice the CEO of a $250 million company on PR strategies. His big wish was to "be on the cover of the New York Times." He kept thinking of marketing and PR as a big splash, one-time news announcement that would get his name in lights. 

But when you use the system approach you've described, marketing becomes a solid habit -- like eating right or exercising regularly.

Peter Drucker's books outline Marketing really well - - which still applies even to this day.</description>
