This is interesting stuff. HaaS has a ton of potential but has been stuck in the mud for a long time because it is too complicated/frustrating to find the right financing partners. It looks like MSPAlliance has taken a big step in solving this problem by partnering with Varilease to create a program specifically for MSPs.
Others are doing this as well, most notably MSP On Demand.

HaaS is not just a lease. I think the financing of the hardware is an important and interesting aspect of the HaaS model, but it really has to be part of a much bigger value proposition for the client. If they are able to treat their IT as a service, not just the support of their IT, now we’re talking about something that has body. The client stops looking at the computer and associated software as an asset but as a tool. If it breaks or gets slow, then a new one is swapped in.
If the offer of HaaS is limited to a fancy lease option, then there is very limited value, I think.
I completely agree. It’s not clear on the surface if this deal is really just a lease package or something more like the HaaS you described - let’s hope it’s the latter.
