If you familiar with it you should check out the MSP Mentor top 100 list when it is released next week.
Joe and his team have released some early stats of the top 100 MSPs in a blog post today:
http://www.mspmentor.net/2009/02/04/top-100-managed-service-providers-revenue-trends/
While not perfect, nothing ever is, Joe and his team at MSP Mentor do a good job of finding top performing MSPs from around the world and sharing their success with the community.
It is also a good list of criteria for running the survey, I would suggest if we were all focused on increasing our performance in these key areas our businesses would be the better for it.
Survey criteria looked at:
- Annual managed services (”recurring”) revenue
- Annual managed services revenue growth (in dollars)
- Annual managed services revenue growth (percentage growth — obviously, this is where smaller MSPs often beat their large rivals in our rankings)
- Percent of total revenues from managed services
- Devices managed (pure numbers, 2008 vs. 2007)
- Devices managed (percentage growth, 2008 vs. 2007)
I look forward to the results and the conversations they will create.
Josh
